The short version
If Hallory is not right for your venue, email hello@hallory.app and ask. Within the first 14 days of a new subscription we will refund you in full, no explanation needed.
After that, you can cancel at any time and you will not be charged again. We do not lock venues into long contracts, and we do not think a committee should have to argue with software to stop paying for it.
Your cooling-off period
If you are in the UK or EU, consumer law gives you 14 days to change your mind about a new subscription. We apply the same 14 days to every customer, including organisations, because it is simpler and fairer than checking who qualifies.
The 14 days run from the date of your first payment. Ask within that window and you get a full refund, even if you have used the service.
Monthly subscriptions
Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time. Your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for, and you are not charged again after that.
Outside the first 14 days we do not refund part-months. If you cancel halfway through a month you keep the service until the month ends.
Annual subscriptions
Annual plans can be cancelled at any time and will not renew. Within the first 14 days you get a full refund.
After 14 days, if you cancel an annual plan partway through the year, contact us. We will normally refund the unused whole months, less any discount you received for paying annually. We would rather do that than keep money for a service you have stopped using.
When we will refund beyond the usual terms
Some situations are simply our fault, and in those cases we will refund you whether or not the 14 days have passed:
- You were charged after cancelling, or charged twice for the same period.
- A prolonged outage or fault meant you could not meaningfully use the service.
- You were charged for a plan you did not agree to.
- A feature you subscribed specifically to use was removed without a reasonable alternative.
When we will not refund
To be straightforward about the limits:
- Periods you have already used, outside the 14-day window and outside the situations above.
- Accounts suspended for a serious breach of our terms of service.
- Charges more than 12 months old.
How to request a refund
Email hello@hallory.app from the address associated with your account. Tell us your venue name and roughly what went wrong. You do not need to fill in a form or justify yourself at length.
We aim to reply within two working days and to process approved refunds within five working days. Refunds go back to the original payment method, and your bank may take a few days more to show it.
What happens to your data
Cancelling does not delete your data immediately. Your bookings, rooms, hirers, volunteers and records remain available for export for a reasonable period after your access ends, so nothing is lost while a committee decides what to do next.
If you would like your data deleted sooner, ask us and we will do it.
The waitlist
Joining the waitlist is free and involves no payment, so there is nothing to refund. Founding-member pricing offered to waitlist members is covered by this policy in the same way as any other subscription once it starts.
